Abstract
Drawing from the large cross-cultural survey carried out on student samples from 27 countries (N = 6192), there was tested applicability (on the individual and the cultural level) of the three-dimensional model of entitlement . In this article we show that this model allows for cross-cultural comparisons of entitlement attitudes and describe their relations to socio-economic development of societies (including functioning of democracy and economy) and cultural values by S. Schwartz. The results have been discussed in terms of John Berry`s eco-cultural model and Ronald Inglehart`s human development theory.
Keywords: cultural entitlement attitudes, social development, ecocultural model, human development theory, cultural values
