Abstract:
The article presents the Polish adaptations of two questionnaires measuring dispositional regulatory focus: Regulatory Focus Questionnaire (RFQ) and Regulatory Focus Scale (RFS). First Higgins theoretical conception of self-regulation modes is presented, next psychometric properties of the Polish versions of both measures are analyzed. Based on the confirmatory factor analyses a shorter version of RFS is proposed. In regard to RFQ the original factor structure is acceptable, though the shorter version has better psychometric properties. The paper presents reliability of both questionnaires (internal consistency and test-retest reliability) as well as analyses of their validity (Multitrait-Multimethod-Matrix and correlations with personality traits).
